Publishing Assistant

Summary:

This role offers an opportunity to be part of the team behind an exciting university press which is still in its development phase. As a key member of a small team you will be required to be involved in all aspects of Goldsmiths Press activities, supporting the press Director and Editorial and Production Manager. You will also act as an ambassador for Goldsmiths Press, promoting our publications, ethics and ethos.  We expect this role to develop and there is the chance for it to become more specialised over time.

 

Main duties:

  • Assist the department with all editorial and production processes
  • Support the publicity and marketing activities of the press
  • Keep track of office stationary expenditure and sundries
  • Coordinate the Bibliocloud publishing management system used to support the press
  • Act as point of contact for new submissions
  • Update information on the Goldsmiths Press webpage
  • Maintain Goldsmiths Press’s social media presence including Twitter and Facebook
  • Work closely with a small team to help ensure delivery of publications and smooth running of effective publishing process
  • Support all aspects of the publishing process, including sales and marketing
  • Offer administrative support and coordinate Goldsmiths Press activities
  • Contribute to the development of the press and help to establish processes that can enhance publishing across the boundaries of teaching, research and industry
  • You will be required to undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required
  • Ensure that you are aware of and aligned with Goldsmiths’ Regulations, Strategy, and Objectives to work together to proactively advance Equality and Diversity
  • At all times to help maintain a safe working environment by participating in training as necessary and following the Goldsmiths’ Health and Safety Codes of Practice and Policy

Salary Bracket: £20,198 – £23,284
