Senior Book Designer

We’re looking for an in-house Senior Book Designer to provide maternity cover within Orion’s art department. Based in our fantastic office overlooking the Thames, the role will involve working on all aspects of design for the insides of our books; working across both fiction and non-fiction imprints.
 

You will be responsible for the design and text specification of manuscripts, design and setting of books for both text only and colour integrated cookery titles. Your job will also involve preparing offsets and plate sections, checking proofs and commissioning freelance designers and illustrators.
 

You will be an experienced designer who is highly organised, creative, with good communication skills as well as meticulous attention to detail. The role will involve working closely with the art, editorial and production teams.
