We are seeking a Rights Director to head up our already hugely successful rights team. You will work with editorial teams at all stages of the acquisitions process, ensuring that we acquire and exploit the best possible range of rights for our authors, and work with publishers and customers across the world to maximise the value of those rights for our authors.   

 

You will steer and motivate the team to create successful growth strategies for rights revenues in each of the publishing divisions. You are likely to have excellent relationships in different rights markets, and in particular the US market, and you will work to build and sustain relationships with Hachette colleagues across the world. You will also develop and exploit commercial opportunities in new and developing markets, including specialist professional and digital areas.        

 

You will already have a successful career in rights selling with excellent negotiation and communication skills. Commercial and financially literate, you will be a motivating manager, used to developing staff and bringing clarity and energy to your team. You will build strong relationships with clients, agents and authors and work closely with colleagues in house to provide feedback to editors for new books acquisitions.

  

This is a senior level appointment which sits on the board in each division. It offers a significant opportunity for growth and development within a positive and ambitious team.
