Editor: Non-Fiction

Hachette Children’s Group
£25,500 – 30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
London

Wren & Rook, the trade non-fiction imprint of Hachette Children’s Group, is looking for a highly motivated, ideas-driven editor to join its small, dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape this fast-growing and exciting list, which features genre-leading titles such as You Are Awesome by Matthew Syed and Women in Science by Rachel Ignotofksy. Wren & Rook publish everything from non-fiction picture books to fast-track, zeitgeisty teen/YA.

If you are passionate with good commercial sense and a desire to drive your ideas forward, please get in touch with us. Reporting to the Publishing Director, you will be proactive, enthusiastic and willing to nurture our existing authors – and hungry to seek out new ones. This role would be an ideal next step for a junior or desk editor looking to lead their own projects or start a career in children’s non-fiction.

A good understanding of or interest in the non-fiction market, an instinct for what sells and a keen eye for design are valuable in this role. You will also have outstanding editorial skills, be highly organised and deadline-driven.

Knowledge of InDesign and Biblio is highly desirable.

Closing date: Sunday, 24 February 2019
