WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Hachette Children’s Group, a division of Hachette UK, publishes award-winning best-selling titles from board books for babies to young adult fiction. Our list includes authors and illustrators such as Cressida Cowell, Mick Inkpen, Jim Field, Akala and Dermot O’Leary.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will be producing reprints and co-editions from our high-profile titles across fiction and colour picture books, as well as novelty baby books from our Pat-A-Cake list. The books are on fast run arounds often with complex finishes and this often involves negotiating and working with suppliers globally.

We anticipate that one day a week you will be working with our Publishing Operations manager setting up and inputting accurate data into Biblio. Training will be provided so you develop an understanding of how our systems feed out to retailers and the importance of maximising sales with high standard searchable data. Inventory reporting will also be an area for development.

The job offers the chance to gain first class commercial experience which enhances a publishing career in both production and operations.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • One year of experience working in a book production department.
  • Experience working with Biblio.
  • Confident with Excel and working with reports.
  • Ambition to acquire both production and system knowledge.
