Publicity Manager, Headline
£28,800 per annum
Are you looking for your next step in book publicity in a rewarding role with an award-winning team?
Who we are and what we do
Headline Publishing Group, part of Hachette UK, the UK’s leading book publisher, is looking for a Publicity Manager to join Headline’s Press Office, reporting to the Publicity Director, with full ownership of their authors and campaigns. Headline was founded in 1986 with a single promise at its heart: to publish the books people want to read. Sometimes, the simplest ideas are best.
Headline has spent over three decades creating books people want to read and our passion for the commercial means we are home to some of the UK’s biggest-selling authors and continue to invest in new talent with bestseller potential.
What you’ll be doing
You will be creating innovative publicity campaigns to grow sales, raise author and book profiles and brand awareness. The list associated with this role is wide and commercial, so there will be responsibility for titles across all genres but particularly commercial women’s fiction, our literary imprint Tinder Press, and a range of non-fiction titles including celebrity, lifestyle, and sport. You will have an excellent understanding of all the elements needed to make a title commercially successful, as well as how publicity can drive sales and raise author profiles.
Who we’re looking for
We need a responsible, enthusiastic, well-organised person who is really committed to the job and will relish the opportunity to travel with authors, attending a range of events, sometimes at weekends.
Ideal candidates will already be working at Press Officer or Senior Press Officer level, with considerable experience in the Press Office. You will have experience of delivering outstanding author care and liaising with agents as well as have a real desire to broaden your contacts into new areas. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and who works well as part of a close-knit team. Good social media skills and telephone manner are also vital.
What we offer
For the right candidate we offer excellent benefits and the opportunity to join a fun and dedicated team that will support your development. This role is based in our London office, has great bonus potential, employee networks, not to mention a fabulous rooftop staff café.
To apply, send your full CV and a covering letter to: email@example.com Alternatively, hard copies can be sent to: HR Department, Carmelite House, 50 Victoria Embankment, London EC4Y 0DZ.
Closing date: Monday 11 March 2019.
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are only able to get in touch directly with shortlisted candidates. If you are shortlisted and need us to make any adjustments to help you attend for interview, please do let us know.
