Customer Service Executive and Sales

Heath Books is looking for enthusiastic people to join our team. We have a vacancy for a Customer Service Executive and also, a Salesperson to market our services and Showroom.
 

Heath Books is a family-run company specialising in supplying books to schools. We pride ourselves on our high standard and friendliness of our customer service and are looking for someone who takes pride in doing a job well, with an outstanding ability to pay attention to detail. 
 

Customer Service Executive
We are looking for a person who takes pleasure in doing a good job and would enjoy working as part of a team as well as displaying their own initiative when appropriate. Graduate level education or relevant experience is preferred.
 

Duties include:

  • invoicing books for delivery to schools
  • providing quotations for schools via phone and email
  • answering phone and email queries from teachers and other school staff
  • dealing with and entering orders onto our in-house ordering system
  • liaising with suppliers and couriers
  • use of and updating in-house Customer Database (ACT!)
  • any other duties involved in a small company as required - the job does require regular handling and lifting of books as part of the invoicing process.

Sales Person/ Marketing Assistant:
We are looking for a person to undertake calls to customers - chasing quotations and making contact with potential and existing schools and teachers. The role could be full or part time dependant on the right person.
 

Someone with book knowledge or teaching experience would be advantageous as all our customers are teachers and school book buyers.
 

Essential duties:

  • ability to make telephone calls in a pleasant manner
  • email potential customers
  • keep updated records of contacts
  • work on own initiative but also as part of a team
  • update and use our CRM system (ACT!).

Other duties are variable and may include:

  • marketing to schools using social media and written material
  • assisting in our 60,000 book Showroom meeting and helping teachers select books.

Essential requirements for ALL roles within the company:

  • accuracy and attention to detail
  • excellent telephone manner, although training will be given
  • good command of written and spoken English
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • keenness to take responsibility
  • calm and organised manner
  • self-motivated
  • ability to use initiative and prioritise
  • team player
  • graduate level education
  • good Microsoft Office skills although training will be given.

Previous experience in a customer service or sales environment would be advantageous.
 

A background in book-selling or teaching would also be very relevant
 

The working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm with 21 days holiday plus bank holidays.
