If you want to work for a fast-growing independent publishing company with a start-up mentality, now is your chance! Joffe Books sold more than 2.6 million books last year and we're looking to beat that record.
We are currently looking for a publishing assistant with a yen for great design. The successful candidate will be independent and proactive, with an eye for detail, a flair for copy and excellent organisation skills. Proven design skills and experience using Photoshop is a must.
Key duties include:
- Designing covers and ad campaigns, social media and digital marketing, including via Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, AMS, etc.
- Writing punchy copy for book covers and marketing
- Managing metadata, SEO, etc. to optimise each book's profile
- Administrative support (maintaining key databases, handling contracts, etc.)
- Handling manuscripts from formatting to prepping for print
- Providing author care
- Processing accounts and expenses
The ideal candidate will be keen to grow quickly within a business which is growing quickly itself. You should be able to demonstrate your capacity for some of the above tasks, and have a track record of being happy to learn ‘on the job’. We love people who google things they don’t already know how to do! If you are ambitious about a future in publishing, there are excellent opportunities for career development.
The position is London-based (Shoreditch) with some flexibility for remote working further down the line.
If this sounds exciting, we would love to hear from you! Email a 100-word blurb, a Facebook advert, and a CV for yourself to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating the job reference in the subject line ‘JB PUB ASSIST’ by 30 Oct 2019.
We welcome applications from any individual regardless of ethnic origin, gender, disability, religious belief, sexual orientation or age. All applications will be considered on merit.
