An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Editor/Editorial Director to join the industry-leading Sphere Fiction team at Little, Brown Book Group. Shortlisted for imprint of the year at the British Book Awards in 2018, Sphere Fiction is one of the most innovative and successful commercial imprints in the UK and the proud home of award-winning Sunday Times and international bestselling authors including Mark Billingham, Jenny Colgan, Val McDermid, Clare Mackintosh, Carole Matthews, J.K. Rowling and Robert Galbraith and Nicholas Sparks.

What you’ll be doing?

We are looking to bring in a senior editorial talent who will bring creativity and commercial awareness to their publishing. You will take on existing authors and acquire new authors for the list. We are looking for someone proactive, who thinks ambitiously for their authors, with a desire to generate IP projects, and drive the strategy for their books, working closely with the wider team.

Who we’re looking for

This role would suit an individual who loves commercial fiction and reads widely across genres with at good experience in commissioning and seeing those books brought to market. We are looking for someone who thinks strategically across all formats of a publication and wants to join the team at one of the most successful imprints in the UK. Strong communication skills, an ability to think globally and an understanding of the importance of metadata are essential. Job title dependent upon experience.
