Print Production Manager

Part time - 3 Days

New Frontier is looking for a Print Production Manager to support our award-winning children’s book list. The candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with a keen eye for detail. 

New Frontier was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2002 with the ethos to create children’s books to educate, uplift and inspire. In 2017 NFP opened a UK office and is quickly growing.  We publish board books, picture books and middle grade fiction.

The successful candidate will join our team on a part time basis, working in our London office in Fulham. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the production workflow from prepress to manufacture
  • Working with external suppliers, onshore and offshore while continually monitoring quality standards
  • Ensure a smooth supply chain with new orders/collections produced to the correct specification and schedule
  • Creating and updating budgets, and managing costs in line with agreed expenditure
  • Overall responsibility for the management of key print/finishing related issues based on the requirements of a specific territory/area of business.
  • Responsibility for supplying dummies for internal approval, and logistical planning of delivery of all components
  • Negotiating with suppliers to ensure the production of any designated order/collection.
  • Ensuring all invoices are received on time and are at the agreed contract price or estimate, and cross-checking these against the budget
  • To solve any production difficulties that may arise

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Colour book production experience, print buying, understanding of XML based workflows, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure with good attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A friendly, can do attitude
  • Highly organised with strong administrative skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent numerical skills with a methodical approach
  • Ability to prioritise, organise workload, and manage multiple tasks concurrently
