About the role
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual looking to take a step into sales. This full time role involves various support activities, as well as email and telephone promotion and selling of online training courses to decision-makers at universities in the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities will include:
- Researching potential customer names and profiling individuals
- Booking customer visits for Senior Academic Partnership Manager to attend
- Event administration, organisation, follow-up
- Supporting and occasionally attending events and small conferences across the region
- Quoting subscription customers
- Subscription selling and subscription renewals
- Identification and research into potential subscription consortia and national subscription deals
- Helping identify successful subscription case studies and subscriber evangelists
- Providing an outstanding level of customer support and care
- Keeping accurate and up to date sales records via Salesforce CRM system
- Reporting to the Senior Academic Partnership Manager to ensure all set objectives are met
This position is based in Oxford and may include occasional travel to conferences and events across the territory, mostly in London.
About you
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Education to undergraduate degree level or equivalent
- Ability to work as a team player
- Confidence in dealing with customers by phone
- Experience of promotion/selling or persuasion by phone and email
- Excellent communication skills
- Use of web-based sales tools, sales databases etc.
- Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Professionalism at all times
- Self-motivation and willingness to learn new skills
- Good people skills
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of publishing and higher education industry
