ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Development Editor to play a key role within the Assessment team working on new resources across primary and secondary. Ideally you will have experience in educational publishing and of working on assessment materials.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Researching markets and commissioning components, in consultation with the publisher
  • Shaping and editing print and digital materials from manuscript to published resource
  • Liaising with authors, advisors and suppliers
  • Managing projects to schedule and within budget
  • Developing and co-ordinating all aspects of the Assessment list in consultation with, and in support of, the Senior Publisher (including creating product information, drafting contracts and responding to customer and sales team product queries).

This would be a great opportunity for someone who is currently a Development Editor and is looking for the next step up, or someone who has a wealth of experience in delivering assessments.

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated and organized individual who is able to work autonomously and to take direction. You will need to have strong print and digital editorial skills; experience of managing complex multi-component projects to budget and schedule; and great team working and people management skills, including working with authors and suppliers.
