Michael Joseph has always published books that entertain, inspire and delight the reader. They nurture both established and emerging talent, as well as bring books to the market that can redefine popular culture.
At the heart of Michael Joseph’s success, is a passionate team who care immensely about their authors, their books and their readers.
We’re looking for a Sales Director who will join the Michael Joseph team to help define and shape their on-going success.
We’d love to have someone who believes that they can make a difference to the careers of authors such as Conn Iggulden, JoJo Moyes, Jamie Oliver, Stephen Fry, Dawn French and Giovanna Fletcher. We want some who can launch the next category defining publications such as the Ladybirds and the GCHQ Quiz book.
Not only do we need someone who has experience of taking established authors to the next level, we also want somebody who is able to help launch new talent – our future success depends on it.
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of maximising sales through the Amazon platform as well as capable of working in partnership with high street retailers and our supermarket customer base.
Unsurprisingly, we’re keen to have a strong people manager who thrives on developing their team, giving each individual the opportunity to grow and reach new heights – someone to bring enthusiasm and commitment to the team, as well as a constant desire to increase sales in the most profitable way possible.
The Michael Joseph role will join sales colleagues from across Penguin Random House in the opportunity to shape the wider sales direction of the UK’s largest trade publishing company and work with other Sales Directors and our UK sales leadership team to build the best retail partnerships in the industry whilst, ensuring we are always thinking creatively around our commercial relationships.
You will need to be a superior negotiator, a natural relationship builder (both internally and externally) as well as being able to inspire and motivate.
So, if you have a strong background in sales, a passion for building and developing great authors and a desire to work alongside one of the most talented publishing teams in the business, we’d love to hear from you.
