Head of Publicity, Pan

Digital and Communications

Pan Macmillan is one of the most successful publishers in the UK, winning Publisher of the Year twice in the last three years with market-beating year-on-year growth over the last five years. The Pan Division is home to a broad range of authors in all formats, from established fiction brands such as Jeffrey Archer, David Baldacci, Ann Cleeves, Lucy Diamond, Ken Follett, Peter James, Karen Swan, Kate Morton, Kate Mosse, Lucinda Riley, CJ Sansom, Danielle Steel and Joanna Trollope to breakout debuts such as Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen's The Wife Between Us. Pan also includes thriving SFF and Crime lists and publishes a variety of non-fiction including the major autobiography to come this year from Elton John, books from Louis Theroux to Kevin Keegan and a growing business books list.

We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware, strategic and well-connected publicist to join Pan Macmillan's energetic, award-winning Communications team. You will work closely with the Pan Communications Director on publicity strategy and on development of our publicity function. You will lead and manage both direct reports and freelancers, ensuring that we achieve highly targeted, sales-driving PR for our books and the best level of author care is provided at all times. Alongside conceptualising and implementing campaigns of your own for some of our most high profile, best-selling author brands, you will work with the team in planning and implementing entirely integrated and audience-appropriate campaigns across our fiction and non-fiction lists.

You will have significant experience in book publishing and a proven track record of running impactful campaigns.  You will also have experience of managing a team with varying levels of experience.

In return we can offer you a range of great projects, a creative, sparky, fun and supportive working environment within a fully integrated communications team as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
