Macmillan Children’s Books is a division of Pan Macmillan and is one of the UK’s leading children’s publishers, creating great stories for all ages for over 150 years. 

Our proactive children’s books Communications department is looking for an ambitious individual who is ready for the next step after being in an assistant role, with ideally one year or more experience in Marketing or Communications. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the marketing team to support all the consumer marketing campaigns across the Macmillan Children’s Books list, including Campbell Books and Two Hoots. You will run some of your own bespoke marketing campaigns alongside sharing responsibility for our digital channels, and supporting the wider team on our award-winning, industry-leading marketing activity.

This role sits within our integrated Communications team and is the perfect level to learn more about Marketing and PR in the children’s book world.    

You will work alongside the team to build the best relationships and profile in the industry, and have the fantastic opportunity of working with some of today’s bestselling and award-winning authors and illustrators, including: Julia Donaldson, Axel Scheffler, Lydia Monks, Chris Riddell and Frances Hardinge.  

The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated and organised with excellent communication skills. You will be flexible and able to work under pressure. Creativity and great ideas are welcomed, as is a broad interest in popular culture, and you will have the chance to input into all thinking in the department. Commitment to a high level of author and illustrator care is essential, along with a willingness to work at events on occasional weekends and evenings. We are looking for someone with an infectious passion for children’s books. 

This role is for a fixed term of 1 year and will be based at our stunning new offices in Farringdon.
