Macmillan Children’s Books, the Children’s Division of Pan Macmillan, have an exciting opening for a Publisher to lead and grow our successful non-fiction Kingfisher imprint.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in non-fiction illustrated publishing, with commercial flair, an understanding of international market needs, (including co-edition processes), and an ability to spot an opportunity and move quickly to capitalize on it.
The position will involve:
Responsibility for representing the Kingfisher imprint profile internally and externally
Responsibility for the commercial performance of the Kingfisher P&L, achieving or exceeding targets
Responsibility for the imprint’s publishing strategy and investment priorities, including generating, developing, presenting, costing and galvanising people around new ideas
Providing leadership and management of direct reports, including promoting a collaborative spirit and an outward looking culture

This is a senior position within Macmillan Children’s Books and the right person will continue to build on the Kingfisher success of the last five years in a creative and market responsive way, whilst managing workflows to critical path.
The position is based at our offices in King’s Cross, London moving to stunning new offices in Farringdon by the end of the year and involves some travel to our sister company in the US.
