Artworker - Art & Design

Pan Macmillan UK is one of the largest general book publishers in the UK, with imprints including Macmillan, Mantle, Pan, Picador, Bluebird, Macmillan Children's Books and Macmillan Digital Audio. Pan Macmillan is part of the worldwide Macmillan Publishing Group. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly Art & Design department as an artworker working across both the Adult and the Children’s 6+ list to provide technical expertise in preparing artwork for print and digital. 

You will have a range of responsibilities including implementing and correcting cover artwork from the design team, providing highly-finished visuals of approved projects for sales presentations and producing high quality artwork using the adobe suite. 

Some experience of working in a design studio or print environment would be preferable. 

The key tasks of the role will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Liasing with the Editorial team and supplying artwork for approval

  • Liaising closely with the Production team, supplying artwork and working through technical problems

  • Working with the Production and Editorial department regarding production schedules, proofing and corrections

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An exceptional understanding of design applications

  • Exceptional understanding of the print process

  • Up to date knowledge of computer software: photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator etc

  • Design Qualification HND/degree preferable

This role will be based in our offices in King's Cross, London.
