Marketing Manager, Cookery
Your Challenge
Together with Penguin Books, Jamie Oliver has sold more non-fiction bestsellers in the UK than any other author. As Jamie continues to lead the cookbook industry into the 2020s, we are looking for an individual with exceptional communication and project management skills to manage the Jamie Oliver publishing brand.
It will be your role to be the publishing brand guardian and champion for every Jamie book publication. You will be a part of the Michael Joseph division, working closely with and reporting to the Communications Director, and will also be liaising closely with a busy sales division, international publishers, retailers, relevant external agencies and, of course, Jamie’s team as you help bring Jamie’s latest book to publication on a global level. You will also be expected to manage and implement a large nationwide and international marketing campaign, working closely with Jamie’s other brands and the Jamie Oliver Ltd business.
In addition, you will be the hub of all communications and the key point of contact for the publishing project internally, externally and for Jamie Oliver Ltd.
Your Profile
You must be highly organized, creative and adaptable. You’ll have an understanding and appreciation of brands and how they evolve. You’ll have experience of working in a publishing environment and be an exceptional project manager with the ability to manage expectations and sensitivities when multiple high-level stakeholders are involved. You will be proficient at all kinds of media – online and offline – and you’ll have a passion for media, books and an interest in the cookery market.
Crucially, you will be unflappable under pressure, solutions-driven, able to balance creative and commercial requirements and manage very senior stakeholders. This role will suit someone with Marketing Exec or Manager experience or someone who wants to move into working more specifically on one big brand.
Apply with a CV and cover letter by 19th Feb.
