Penguin Random House Children’s on a 12m FTC basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

We at Penguin Random House Children’s, home to Puffin and Ladybird, publish some of the biggest global brands, authors and illustrators from pre-school through to teens. These include Peppa Pig, Peter Rabbit, The Snowman, Doctor Who, Eric Carle, Allan Ahlberg, Roald Dahl, Jeff Kinney, Jacqueline Wilson, Tom Fletcher,  Philip Pullman, Malorie Blackman, Karen McManus, Nicola Yoon and John Green to name but a few!

We are seeking an outgoing, dynamic, proactive and creative Senior Publicity Manager to work across our outstanding portfolio of books and brands. You’ll have the opportunity to plan and manage creative and innovative publicity campaigns that reach their target audience, on and offline. 

Your day-to-day tasks will include maintaining and developing excellent media contacts, actively researching the marketplace and readership to ensure excellent awareness of trends and to identify target audiences, writing pitches and attending pitch meetings when required.

We are looking for a confident communicator, enthusiastic about presenting their ideas and representing the team both internally and externally. You’ll be someone who has the ability to remain calm under pressure and is adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines. You’ll also be able to prioritise your time effectively and flexibly in a busy results-driven environment.

Ideally you will have strong publicity experience, a keen interest in commercial children’s and YA fiction and non-fiction, a hunger to work in a dynamic PR team, as well as excellent organisational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.  Some experience of working with high profile authors and/ or celebrities is preferable.
