Editor – Food, London

Phaidon is the premier global publisher of the creative arts with over 1,500 titles in print. We work with the world's most influential writers, chefs, architects, designers, photographers, and thinkers to produce innovative books on food, architecture, design, art, photography, fashion, general interest, travel, and illustrated books for children.

We need an experienced editor to project manage titles on the food and cookery list.  Working closely with the Publisher and Commissioning Editors, you will be involved in all aspects of book creation, from the early stages of commissioning through to hand-over to production.  This will include assessing texts, editing, managing budgets and schedules, as well as supervising proofreaders and external editors.  You will also liaise extensively with authors, chefs, photographers, food stylists, picture researchers, graphic designers and Phaidon's production team.

You must have solid book-management experience in illustrated book publishing (including editing, budget management, and InDesign skills), a dedication to excellence and accuracy, and a talent for building excellent relationships with authors and freelancers. A demonstrable knowledge of and passion for publishing within the area covered by this role is essential.

This is a full-time position, which is based in our London offices, and candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Final job title and salary are dependent on experience.
