Phaidon is the premier global publisher of the creative arts with over 1500 titles in print. We work with the world’s most influential artists, chefs, writers and thinkers to produce innovative books on art, photography, architecture, design, food and travel and illustrated books for children. Phaidon is headquartered in London and New York City.
 

International Rights and Co-editions are at the core of Phaidon’s global business. We are looking for an Executive to strengthen the International Editions team. Based in London and reporting to the Head of Department, the role requires providing general administrative and sales support to the foreign rights team as well as selling co-editions and rights of Phaidon titles to international territories.
 

The ideal candidate will be a meticulous and organised administrator, commercially aware individual with a passion for selling illustrated books. The role requires at least three years publishing experience, not specifically in rights selling, but within a strong commercially driven environment.
 

Responsibilities

  • Providing full administrative and logistical support to the Foreign Rights team
  • Selling co-editions and rights to foreign publishers in agreed territories
  • Working closely with Accounts, Production, Legal departments and the Creative team
  • Acting as the contact to all international co-edition and rights customers
  • Organise and attend book fairs and sales trips

 

Experience & Skills

  • Proven success in sales administration and business development
  • Proven commercial success, preferably in the book industry
  • Proven account handling and customer service expertise
  • Experience of using Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Fluent in English and preferably one other language
  • Hard working, enthusiastic, organised and professional
