Account Manager, Pottermore Publishing

REPORTING TO​​: Senior Account Manager

BACKGROUND

Pottermore Publishing is the global digital publisher of the Harry Potter series and Fantastic Beasts film tie-ins, as well as other digital audiobooks and eBooks from the Wizarding World. It aims to lead the way in innovative digital publishing and to bring new generations of readers together with long-standing fans, celebrating and bringing to life the stories that first began with the Boy Who Lived. 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage relationships with retail and library partners as directed, acting as a source of communication across the business and out to partners. Day-to-day responsibility will be focused on Pottermore’sinternational digital partnerships and proactively driving Pottermore’s commercial and marketing strategy in this sector. 

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

• Developing and executing merchandising and campaign strategies with partners, across English-speaking territories and the Nordics, to maximise sales opportunities, delivering on revenue targets (specific responsibilities for retailers/territories may vary as the business develops).

• Tracking and reporting on sales results, promotional outcomes, sales trends and discoverability.

• Working with the marketing team to develop and implement high impact and commercially creative campaigns around franchise events and Wizarding World tentpole moments, as well as retailer-specific initiatives.

• Establishing, agreeing and implementing strategies for the realization of sales potential.

• Producing regular reports and analysis.

• Working with product, marketing and operations teams to help deliver the Pottermore Publishing schedule.

• Developing a detailed knowledge of the company’s products and pricing.

• Developing market expertise.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Sales and account management experience in media, technology, publishing, digital retail or entertainment sectors with an ability to deal with complex sales environments and challenges (specific experience of working with digital retail and library partners is desirable).

• Strong interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player able to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.

• Creative and driven, with an ambitious approach to building accounts. 

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills (intermediate to advanced Excel).

• Sound understanding of key industry trends on a global basis and how these could impact account activity.

• Effective communication and presentation skills.

• A flexible and proactive attitude approaching projects sensitively and creatively.

• Organised and pays attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritise work effectively within the scope of business needs and to work in a fast-paced environment.

• An interest in the Wizarding World is a bonus (mastermind-level knowledge not required).

It is expected that roles and responsibilities will evolve over time as the individual grows within the business
