Commissioning Editor

Quadrille is a leading independent publisher of non-fiction books. Our internationally renowned list includes bestselling, award-winning books such as The Curry Guy, What a Time to Be Alone, The Little Book of Mindfulness, Black Sea and Great British Sewing Bee.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the editorial team – we are looking for a Commissioning Editor, ideally with 4–5 years’ experience of working in illustrated non-fiction and/or gift publishing.

Reporting to the Publishing Director, you will project-edit and champion books from inception to publication and beyond. You will be commercially minded and passionate about books. You will love spotting trends and have a keen eye for design. Above all, we are looking for vision, enthusiasm and bold, fresh ideas. Author liaison, editorial accuracy and adherence to schedules are key, as is experience of working with agents, freelancers and in-house sales, marketing and publicity teams.

This is a unique chance to become involved in every aspect of Editorial on both illustrated and non-illustrated titles, and to work with high-profile authors on our innovative, commercial and fast-growing list.
