Foreign Rights Manager

Position Purpose
Quarto is looking for a Foreign Rights Manager to join its expanding, market-leading London-based Foreign Rights Children’s team. The Quarto Group is the leading global illustrated book publisher and distribution group. Quarto Children’s creates more than 450 books a year. These books are sold by the Quarto Foreign Rights team into more than 45 countries and in more than 35 languages.

You will be responsible for reaching and exceeding sales targets in the French and Dutch markets across a number of Children’s lists such as Quarto Children’s Books, Wide Eyed Editions and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books. You will be based in London and will travel up to 10 weeks a year to your territories and have the ability to provide market feedback on trends that Quarto can publish into.

A determined, positive and commercial sales person, you have at least two years’ experience in foreign rights/international sales and have outstanding communication, sales and negotiating skills. You know how to build and maintain excellent customer relationships and have the commercial awareness to identify sales opportunities and close deals.

You are highly organised and are able to collaborate effectively with internal colleagues to ensure that co-editions are contracted and delivered on time.

You speak French at a native level and ideally have experience in selling children’s books, though we welcome applications from foreign rights professionals in all illustrated categories.

Please send a full CV and cover letter, including salary expectations, to Carine Delagrave, Foreign Rights Director: carine.delagrave@quarto.com

The successful candidate must possess the right to work in the UK. The Quarto Group is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and treatment, ensuring an inclusive and diverse environment.
