Commissioning Editor

Quarto Children’s Books a world leader in award-winning, innovative paper-engineered books for children of all ages are seeking an exceptional commissioning editor. As part of a dedicated creative team you will have the opportunity to work on ideas from conception through to author commissioning and final delivery. The right candidate will have a keen awareness of publishing trends teamed with a desire to put forward their own concepts to help shape this exciting list.

Key responsibilities include:

·       New ideas development

·       Programme planning in liaison with production

·       Budget management

·       Commissioning, negotiating and preparing contracts

·       Project management

·       Workflow and schedule management

You will need excellent organisational skills, a good eye for detail and the ability to co-ordinate multiple projects on tight schedules. Experience of Apple Mac, including InDesign, is essential. The successful candidate would preferably have least five years of related experience on children’s books and experience of novelty formats and international co-editions would be an advantage.
