We have a very interesting commissioning opportunity with a global Membership organisation, within their Learning and Development division. This division provides online training solutions and provides expert courses, covering a range of technical and professional subjects.
The Commissioning Editor will commission content and assessments for the Learning division, which is a new online and mobile initiative delivering learning and development content for professionals.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience in commissioning content preferably within an educational or online and mobile formats.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Ensuring that knowledge of the digital learning market is up to date
- Developing a content plan in conjunction with academic and corporate partners
- Commission learning and development content to the plan agreed with the Head of department
- Identify, commission and sign potential content development partners in both academia and industry
- Project/workload management to achieve commissioning targets/content delivery deadlines
- Identify, approach and sign academic and corporate partners to write suitable learning and development content
This is a pivotal role within the department and the successful person will have:
- At least 2-3 years’ publishing experience combined with a solid track record in commissioning content and ensuring it’s published on time
- Proven experience in commissioning content for either educational or online and mobile formats
- The ability to meet commissioning targets
- Able to work to deadlines, with great time-management, planning and problem-solving skills
- Experience of working with science or technology publishing would be an advantage but not essential
