Production Controller

A Highly successful and global educational publisher is looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Production Controller to work as part of a dynamic and friendly team.  Based in central London, this is a unique opportunity for a Production Assistant or Controller with proven experience in 4 colour book production looking for a varied, interesting and busy production role.

This is a crucial role as the organisation and key responsibilities will include taking responsibility for your own list of books, ebooks and reprints.  You will work closely with Editorial, Design, Marketing and other internal departments, as well as work with external suppliers on a global scale. Other responsibilities will involve, dealing with purchase orders and print estimates; monitoring production schedules, whilst maintaining high standards of quality.  You will attend meetings in relation to progress of current projects, budgets and schedules.

This is a fabulous role to broaden your production skills, learn new systems and be part of a forward-thinking organisation.  The successful person will have a solid understanding of 4 colour book production processes and a strong understanding of typesetting, repro and print technology. A meticulous eye for detail and a ‘can-do’ approach to your work is essential, as is the ability to be super organised and learn new systems quickly. A knowledge of Biblio3 is desirable but not essential.
