Special Sales Manager

Ryland Peters & Small and CICO Books is a dynamic, independent and market-leading publisher of lifestyle books and gifts in the areas of Food & Drink, Interior Style, Craft, Mind Body Sprit, Gift, Humour and journals for all occasions.

 

We are seeking a Special Sales Manager to sell to non-trade accounts in the UK, including lifestyle stores, garden centre groups, gifts companies and hamper businesses.

 

Working within a supportive and dynamic team and part of highly entrepreneurial company, this is an exciting position ideal for a self-starter, possibly looking for a step up to a manager’s role, who will relish the challenge of creating opportunities and selling in competitive markets.

 

Based from our central London offices the role also includes attendance at gift fairs and some travel within the UK. There is also a possibility to oversee field-based agents depending on your experience.

 

Qualities and skills required:

  • Presentation and negotiation skills, impeccable account handling
  • Entrepreneurial – looking for new business opportunities and growing sales with existing customers
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and to demonstrate initiative

 

Desirable

  • Minimum two years’ sales experience in the UK non-trade (admin or sales), or ability to demonstrate new business development skills
  • Passionate about lifestyle books
