Simon & Schuster UK Children’s Books is one of the leading children’s lists in the UK with a varied publishing programme that’s home to numerous bestselling authors and brands including, Cassandra Clare, Danny Wallace, Dork Diaries, Claire Freedman & Ben Cort, Sue Hendra & Paul Linnet, Abi Elphinstone, Gayle Forman, Benji Davies, Pip Jones and many more.

We publish a wide mix of genres and for a variety of ages, from mass-market series fiction to award-winning picture books and have a commercial and creative approach to our publishing.

Job Profile:
We have an exciting opportunity for a key support role within our Picture Book and Fiction editorial teams.

The Role:
Reporting to both the Picture Book Editorial Director and Fiction Editorial Director, the role would involve close involvement in all editorial activities leading to publication across our titles, including reading and assessing manuscripts, preparing AIs, copywriting, managing freelancers, general administration, as well as close liaison with all other departments and our US sister company. You will also provide vital support to our audio list and backlist initiatives.

The Candidate Profile:  
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, a meticulous eye for detail and an ability to interact at all levels. Strong IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is a must.  You will be highly-organised, good at multi-tasking, pro-active and be able to work under pressure. An interest in children’s publishing is desired.
