Job Profile:

Simon & Schuster UK Ltd are looking to appoint a Children’s Publishing Operations and Reprint Controller. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory management and reprints for Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Publishing, such as, Abi Elphinstone, Rachel Renee Russell, Sue Hendra & Paul Linnet, Claire Freedman, Cassandra Clare, and Ben Miller.

 

The Role:

Reporting to the Publishing Operations Manager, your role will include monitoring stock levels on all children’s title orders ensuring maximum availability on front and backlist titles, hitting key delivery dates and ensuring costs are met. This role will involve working with both publishing and warehouse systems and leading meetings associated with the management of our Children’s front and backlist titles. You will also be working alongside the Colour Production Manager, managing reprints.  The post holder will work closely with other key aspects of the business and our warehouse.

The  post holder will  manage the full end to end production of reprints for full colour Children’s titles including co-editions, having responsibility for managing stock levels, maintaining availability, KPI reporting and making decisions on initial orders and managing the life cycle of a book across the Children’s list; and also managing the shipping of backlist full colour titles.

The Candidate Profile:  

The candidate will have experience in Publishing Operations including the following areas:

Inventory management; logistics; supply chain; stock control.

Full colour Production work; negotiating prices; shipping

You must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You will enjoy working within a small, hard-working team, and will have excellent administration, organisation and time management skills. You will have an eye for detail and possess first rate data analysis skills along with the acumen to make sound independent decisions. Commercial awareness, with a “can do” positive attitude is essential along with the ability to multi-task effectively.
