Editor

Taylor & Francis Group, a leading international academic publishing company, are currently recruiting for an Editor to join their Routledge division working on the Special Issues as Books programme, commonly referred to as SPIBs. The position is a fixed-term maternity cover contract.
 

This position would involve the commissioning and conversion of new books resulting from journal special issues, focusing on the Politics and Area Studies, Sport and Tourism, Geography, Environment & Sustainability, Science & Mathematics, and Built Environment subject areas. 
 

Tasks include the proactive commissioning of new projects from a full range of international authors, devising a forward-thinking strategy for the list and determining which books to publish. The successful applicant should exhibit an aptitude for highly organised teamwork, and possess strong commercial awareness. Publishing experience, and knowledge of publishing systems (Books and/or Journals) is preferred.
 

The new Editor should enjoy communicating and working with other people, and working under pressure to meet demanding targets. They should also enjoy building a relationship with various stakeholders and acting as the main point of contact for both standalone books and long-standing series.
 

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly efficient professional who wishes to develop their editorial experience and to work on one of Routledge’s most important lists.
