Editor, Museum Publishing Programme

Thames & Hudson is the leading global publisher of illustrated books on creativity and visual culture. Our list includes titles that are published in association with museums and other institutions worldwide, including the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. We are seeking an experienced editor to work on this list, reporting to the Editorial Manager of our Museum and Institutional Publishing Division.
 

This is a varied and creative role requiring relevant editorial experience at a similar level, including project management. You will have an excellent degree in art history or a demonstrable personal interest in art, design and history; experience of working on museum-related titles; and be confident, enthusiastic, highly organized and an effective communicator. You will be required to copy-edit to a high standard; manage several large and complex illustrated books through every stage of the production process efficiently and to budget; work collaboratively with authors, curators and colleagues; and undertake a range of important administrative tasks on behalf of the Museum and Institutional Publishing Division. You will have a thorough knowledge of InDesign and experience of working with freelance staff.
 

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of stimulating projects in close collaboration with authors, curators, designers, picture researchers and others in a highly creative environment in central London.
