A great opportunity has arisen within the Production department of Tate Publishing for the role of Deputy Production Manager. We are a small yet busy team and the role will cover all production aspects of exhibition catalogues, trade and children’s books - in order to ensure that they are produced to a high standard, within budget and on time. Key responsibilities will include:

• To handle all the various stages during the production process of individual titles from initial costings to delivery of bound books
• To negotiate with repro houses and printers on costs and performance.
• To pursue high standards of reproduction and good quality/colour control. To travel to repro houses and printers for colour proofing and press passing as the situation demands.
• To undertake basic layout work as the occasion arises.
• To create and maintain agreed schedules; to inform and advise where they are in danger of slipping
• To keep production of each title within agreed budget, unless with the prior agreement of the Publishing Director
• In the absence of the Production Manager to manage the Production Department.

This is a fixed term maternity cover - up to 12 months.
