Marketing Executive

Thames & Hudson is the leading global publisher of illustrated books on the visual arts and culture.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing Executive with an absolute passion for books to support the production of trade marketing campaigns and materials as well as the implementation of consumer campaigns. This is a key role in the Communications Department, which involves working closely with the Sales Department on sell-in and delivering successful consumer campaigns. Working within a supportive team, this position will suit a candidate with 1-2 years’ marketing experience who wants to work within a vibrant independent publishing company.
 

Key responsibilities

The Marketing Executive, who will report to the Head of Marketing, will be responsible for:

• Creating presentation materials for the Sales team within agreed deadlines
• Supporting the organisation of the bi-annual Sales conference and of key consumer events such as PhotoLondon
• Developing marketing campaigns across the promotional mix for a range of titles
• Working collaboratively with marketing colleagues to develop Thames & Hudson’s online presence; in particular assisting with the creation of content for the website, newsletter and social media
• Working with the Marketing Designer on trade print and online design
• Proactively developing knowledge of key competitors, their products and marketing activities

Experience/skills required

• 1-2 years’ marketing experience
• A passion for books and/or the visual arts
• A full understanding of the marketing mix from campaign planning to implementation and evaluation
• Experience of sourcing, creating, editing and publishing content on a regular basis
• A good knowledge of social media
• Good writing skills
• An eye for detail and design, with excellent organisation and project management skills
• Familiarity with PowerPoint, InDesign and Photoshop
