Project Editor, College Publishing (History of Art and Humanities)

Thames & Hudson is the leading global publisher of illustrated books on all aspects of human creativity and civilization, and has developed a successful textbook list aimed at the North American and international higher-education markets. We have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Editor to join a dynamic department at a key point in its expansion.

The ideal candidate will have solid, proven editorial experience, including project management and working on highly illustrated non-fiction books; a good degree in art history or the humanities; a demonstrable personal interest in art and design; experience of educational, instructional or academic book and digital media publishing; and be confident, enthusiastic and an effective communicator. It is essential that you are able to copy-edit to a very high standard; to manage several large and complex illustrated books simultaneously through every stage of the production process efficiently, calmly and to budget; and to work collaboratively with colleagues. You will have a thorough knowledge of InDesign; experience of briefing and managing freelance staff will be an advantage. Additionally, you will be at ease working with a variety of digital media, including videos, animations, image banks and other instructor and student resources, and be willing to cope with the new challenges posed by digital developments.

To apply, please send your CV with a covering letter to Alice Craddock, HR Advisor: recruitment@thameshudson.co.uk

Closing date: Friday 7 December 2018.
