A rare opportunity has arisen for a dynamic publicist to join Thames & Hudson, the leading global publisher of illustrated books. We publish adult titles across all areas of visual creativity as well as innovative and inspirational books for children by the finest children’s authors and illustrators from around the world.
We are looking for a new member of our Communications team to work as a Publicity Executive.
If you have at least one year’s experience in book or arts PR and in pitching for media coverage across print, broadcast and online to create arresting and sales-driving launch campaigns, this role provides an excellent development opportunity.
You will work on an exciting range of adult titles across the areas of design and lifestyle as well as on our small list of Children’s non-fiction and picture books. You will run your own campaigns, from researching the target media and connecting with influencers to organising author events including, in the case of the Children’s list, the creation, with the Marketing Designer, of events materials for bookshops (showcards, workshop materials). You will also organise book prize submissions for our Children’s titles.
The role requires creativity and energy. You will have exciting ideas for launching new design and lifestyle titles and breaking debut Children’s authors. You will enjoy being a key member of a dynamic and supportive team, building collaborative relationships with authors and editorial colleagues, and having the opportunity to attend events, festivals and exhibitions.
This is an exciting next step for someone with experience working on PR campaigns and who is looking to take on more responsibility.
To apply please send your CV and cover letter, which should include availability/notice period and current salary, to Alice Craddock: email@example.com by 1st November 2019.
