Assistant to Foreign Rights Agent

Person Specification:
We are looking for an exceptional assistant to an agent in our Foreign Rights department. It is a high-volume, fast-paced desk, handling both translation and UK rights.
 

The ideal candidate will be meticulous, professional and passionate about the industry, with the ability to read quickly and enthusiastically across all genres. They will possess exceptional organisation and communication skills, and will understand the importance of excellent client service and absolute discretion. They will thrive in a goal-oriented environment, and have a long-term interest in foreign rights.

  • A good degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within the publishing industry, preferably in a foreign rights capacity.
  • Highly motivated and energetic with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to remain focused while multi-tasking, with a hardworking, professional attitude.
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
  • A great work ethic and the ability to work to a high standard independently under pressure.
  • Absolute confidentiality and discretion at all times. All WME employees are required to sign a confidentiality agreement, and any breach of this agreement will result in immediate disciplinary procedures.
     

Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing proactive support and PA assistance to agent, including diary management, travel arrangements, answering phones and drafting correspondence.
  • Assisting with the preparation of submissions, tracking contracts, and generating reports, lists and timetables.
  • Liaising with clients, publishers and internal colleagues, maintaining good relationships and open communication.
  • Supporting on other ad hoc tasks and projects where required.
