Walker Books UK is looking for a sales manager to considerably increase sales in educational and library channels as part of a company growth strategy in this particular area of the market. This is a key strategic imperative for the UK Trade Division. The sales manager would meet sales targets by selling/representation of company products and would represent Walker in a professional manner at all times.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• Full understanding of educational and library market
• Proven track record of developing and implementing schools / educational strategies
• Minimum A level, graduate preferred
• Sales experience
• Understanding of publishing process and product knowledge
• Financially and commercially astute with IT Skills
• Ideally aware of current government policy with regards to Education
• Library knowledge preferable but not essential

• An excellent communicator, able to work well in a team
• Change management – able to adapt to the changing market environment
• Business accumen – ability to assess the worth of deals
• Commercially driven – actively seek and identify new sales opportunities
