The commercial activities of the V&A are managed by V&A Enterprises Ltd. All of our profits go back to the museum at the end of each year.
We operate thriving retail, publishing and licensing businesses that create revenue for the V&A internationally, from the Museum to the high street, online to department stores, and from Japan to the USA. The profit generated goes directly towards the Museum’s collections, exhibitions and research, furthering its work as the world’s leading museum of art and design.
Our aim is to maximise revenue for the V&A, always combining commercial drive with a sense of the bigger picture that we help to fund.
We publish around 30 new books a year, often in partnership with publishers in different languages. Our licensing business works with manufacturing and retail partners worldwide. Our shops offer a constantly changing range of products, books and designs, celebrating both the best of the V&A and of contemporary design across the world.
