The Marine Society & Sea Cadets, founded in 1756, is the nation's largest maritime charity, delivering services to professional seafarers and others considering careers at sea.

Ashore we run the Sea Cadet Corps, with over 14,000 Sea Cadets aged between 10 and 18 in nearly 400 independent Sea Cadet units across the United Kingdom.

Our Seafarers’ Libraries provide hardback and paperback library services to ships and maritime installations around the world. We also run a highly regarded specialist on-line maritime bookshop, with a presence on Amazon marketplace (both of which are under redevelopment), and are the International Maritime Organisation’s only UK approved distributer. Our customers are maritime enthusiasts, maritime professionals and the shipping industry.
