Junior Literary Agent

Abner Stein is seeking a Junior Literary Agent.  The role will focus on looking after authors on behalf of primary agents in the US and internationally, selling English-language rights in their work to publishers in the UK and Commonwealth. The role will require an enthusiasm for reading and working across a range of fiction and non-fiction, as well as young-adult and children’s titles, pitching and submitting books to publishers, handling negotiations and auctions, and liaising with publishers and clients through to publication and beyond.  You will also be asked to attend a variety of related events and activities outside office hours.

You will have several years experience in publishing, likely in rights or editorial, and will have a critical understanding of books and the wider publishing industry.  You will be comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines, as well as being happy to work as part of the dynamic wider Abner Stein team.

The salary offered will depend on experience. Abner Stein is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from everyone.
