Account Manager

A leading educational publisher is looking to appoint an Account Manager to manage the Higher Education institutional accounts in the South East of England. There will be regular travel and a company car will be provided along with a competitive salary, bonus and excellent benefits. Note, this role can be home or office-based. The Account Manager will be required to occasionally visit either the company's Harlow or London office.

The purpose of the role is to deliver consistent revenue growth of key accounts across the territory, through identifying, and developing profitable relationships with key senior decision makers within institutions and other educational influencers, and maximise sales. Key responsibilities include: to develop a well-connected network of influencers and decision makers at senior levels, prepare and deliver presentations to senior client accounts and prospects, lead the preparation of proposals and responses to bids and tenders, develop and maintain an excellent knowledge of the Higher Education market, lead and manage the account plans for assigned territory and work closely with, and motivate, a supportive, high functioning, trusting, collaborative and results-driven territory team.

The successful candidate will have previous consultative sales experience, ideally within the higher education and/or academic sector or related industry, and will possess the ability to build and develop effective senior level commercial relationships. You will also have a confident and self-motivated approach, with a talent and eagerness for engaging with people and understanding the needs of customers, while being focused on delivering results. The role requires extensive travel across the South East of England territory, and a full driving licence is required.
