Do you want to be part of an exciting new fiction publishing imprint? Do the worlds of video games, comic books, and board games get you excited? Are you in love with fantasy novels and the wonderful stories they can tell? At Asmodee Entertainment we are looking for a stand-out candidate to join the Aconyte Books team, as we expand our ranges of immersive tie-in novels set in these genres.

Are you excited by the thought of helping talented writers hone their stories so they become rich and exciting new adventures in these worlds? Want to help us develop plotlines and character development so our books are the best they can possibly be? This role brings all of that for the right person.

You will be coming in as a key member of the Aconyte Books team, based in Nottingham, UK. Working closely with the publisher and a fellow editor, you will recruit and develop authors to work on our various ranges of tie-in novels. You will match authors to properties and vice versa, and help them create pitches and full proposals. You’ll then develop the book with the author, giving it a full structure edit, to make it the best it can be.

The challenges in this role will be to understand the comic book and video game worlds – as both an expert and a fan – so you know what makes a great story in our settings. You will have demonstrable, professional experience of developing and editing novels. The schedule will be busy and the budgets modest, so creativity and drive are equally essential.

For the person with the right experience this could be a great new opportunity, a chance to join a well-supported imprint and help contribute to its direction and success. As well as UK applications, we are on this rare occasion prepared to review applicants who would work remotely – in time zones up to +2/-6 GMT.

To apply for this position, please take the time to craft a cover letter which really explains what makes you who you are, what existing professional experience you bring to the role, and why you are the person for this job. By all means send in a current CV too.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Please send applications to Vanessa Jack v.jack@asmodee.com by close of play Monday 27th July.
