Acquisitions Editor

A prestigious international publisher of scientific books and journals is hiring for an Acquisitions Editor to grow their academic book portfolio across a range of scientific areas including Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science.

They are based in Central London but happy to consider hybrid and remote working arrangements.

The Book Acquisitions Editor will be responsible for:

  • Acquiring new titles in Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects
  • Overseeing the full editorial process from commissioning through to publication
  • Managing relationships with authors and other stakeholders such as reviewers, textbook adopters, advisers and contributors
  • Analysing market trends and needs, to identify areas for list development

As this role will be heavily involved in the commissioning and shaping of manuscript, a degree in a STEM discipline is essential, together with previous editorial experience in scientific books.
