Artworker/Typesetter

Do you have a great eye for design and passion for children’s books? A lovely children’s publishing house in Central London is looking for an Artworker/Typesetter to be responsible for the typesetting, copyediting and proof reading of fiction manuscripts and printed matter as well as the scheduling and administration of a large children’s book publishing list. You will work on files in close consultation with copyeditors, editors and designers and carry out corrections on any titles being typeset in-house as well as handling reprints and “special” editions. You will need to have excellent Mac and PC skills, a good typographical knowledge and an interest in, and the ability to comment on and improve existing design in close consultation with the Designer. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to be proactive and take the initiative and work as part of a team are essential. Good spelling and grammar, excellent interpersonal skills and a love of children’s books are all prerequisites, as is the necessity to be well organised and flexible in your approach to both people and the books.
