Assistant Editor - Childrens

We have an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Editor to join an award winning Children's book publisher based in Central London.

This rare opportunity is to join a trade publisher within their children's imprint to work across their novelty books, baby and pre-school lists. This role would suit candidates who are looking for their next step in their editorial career, who is passionate about children's publishing and is brimming with ideas and creativity.

Key responsibilities :-

  • Working alongside the design department, coordinate corrections and giving approval for reprints, updating the Biblio reprints notes and liaising with production

  • Assist in the preparation of editorial content for sales and marketing material, including writing and managing sales catalogues from initial stage through to print-ready files

  • Help with copy-editing or proofreading of content as required

  • Look after any administration relating to freelancers

  • General administrative and editorial support for the senior editors as required

The Ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skill's both verbal and written and excellent time management . You will also need experience of project management and working knowledge of Indesign and Biblio.
