Deputy Managing Editor - Medical/Healthcare Journals

We have a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to step up in to the role of Deputy Managing Editor.  Due to high growth a leading medical publisher is looking for a motivated and pro-active individual who might currently be a senior editorial assistant or assistant editor, looking for that next step in their editorial management career.

Reporting to the Editor, this highly interesting role will involve the quality control of articles and content and will play a big part in overseeing and mentoring an editorial team, and will identify areas for improvement and create and implement content strategy for the wider brand, whilst working with the Head of Publishing. You will be involved with new journal launches and will be part of the company’s senior management committee.

Other responsibilities will include proofreading/carrying out quality control of all content and monitor journal standards.

This is a highly exciting and varied role and the successful person will be of graduate calibre, with a degree in a medical science subject and will have demonstrable experience in medical/healthcare publishing. You will have a digital publishing background and experience of using Editorial Manager for workflow.  Experience in creating and implementing new content strategies is essential as is the ability to lead and motivate a small team.
