Associate Publisher - Children's Illustrated Co-editions, London

Our client is a successful co-editions publisher of novelty and illustrated children books . They are owned by a larger global publishing company, and are now looking to recruit an Associate Publisher to join their

fantastic team in central London .

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Publisher with experience in highly illustrated children books to bring creative ideas, passion and leadership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strong publishing list whilst maintaining a brilliant backlist, along with managing a co-edition publishing team. This role will require strong presenting/pitching skills to retailers, international and UK markets , scheduling for quick turn rounds.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help build a strategy for the list
  • Prepare and present proposals of new titles
  • Find, draw up and negotiate contracts with authors and other editorial contributors
  • Management of external contributors
  • Oversee projects from Commissioning to publication

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of co-editions
  • Experience in children's publishing
  • Team player attitude and ability to manage a creative team
  • Commercial focus with solid market awareness
