UK Key Account Manager – Atlantic & Murdoch Books

We are looking for a full time Key Account Manager to handle a mixed portfolio of digital & physical books for various retailers including Amazon, Google, Overdrive, Gardners & WHS Travel.

The successful candidate will report to the Sales Director and will have overall responsibility for achieving budget & maximising sales of all eBooks in the UK & international markets. They will play an active role in setting the sales strategy for individual titles and need to feel comfortable communicating this internally, as well as collaborating with other departments to ensure metadata and search optimisation is maximised.

Other major areas of responsibility include;

  • Managing all the key online print book retailers, including Amazon, Book Depository and Bookshop.org, maximising sales revenues & margin.
  • Handling the day-to-day account selling for WHS Travel, including new title presentations & liaison with our merchandising operation.
  • Key account management of Gardners wholesalers, plus implementing all frontlist & backlist promotions for the trade wholesalers and co-ordinating all trade wholesaler sales within the wider Alliance UK & Export businesses.
  • Seeking out ad-hoc special sales opportunities in the UK market.

This is an exciting opportunity to further a sales career as part of a friendly and dynamic sales team. While some experience - particularly on the online & digital side - is preferred, taking the initiative, good teamwork, strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task are the key attributes for the role.

Atlantic incorporates Atlantic Books, Corvus, Allen & Unwin and Grove Press lists, and together they publish a broad range of literary & commercial fiction and non-fiction while Murdoch Books specialize in food & drink and lifestyle publishing, as well as a small children’s list. Both are members of the Independent Alliance of publishers.

This is a full-time role based at our head office in Bloomsbury, central London. We operate a hybrid working policy, with core hours of 10am-4pm, and a minimum of two days a week in the office.
