Contracts Manager

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc’s Contracts department is looking for a resourceful and motivated Contracts Manager to join the busy and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven contracts executive looking to take the next step in their career in a role working with all strands of Bloomsbury Publishing across the world and the variety of agreements that brings.

The role

The role involves assisting the Group Contracts Director to develop precedents and contracts documents system for the Contracts department as well supervising, training and helping to manage a growing Contracts team.

It will involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for content provided across all divisions, working closely with junior Contracts department members and Editorial staff to answer queries and provide contractual support with authoritative advice.

It will include liaising and cooperating with departments across the company including Royalties, Rights and Legal, maintaining an accurate record of contracts progress in an efficient manner, and collaborating with the other Contracts Manager.

Knowledge, skills and experience 

  • Experience of drafting, reviewing contracts and addenda
  • Excellent knowledge of standard contractual terms
  • Excellent eye for detail and a high level of organisation
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and handle queries efficiently
  • Working knowledge of local and international contract laws
  • Strong research skills
  • Leadership and Management skills, including delegating appropriately
  • Excellent knowledge of Biblio
  • Being comfortable challenging internal stakeholders to maintain Group policies.

Additional information

The role is a full-time and permanent

Salary Pay Point: £40,000 – £42,600

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).
